The Bible:
Is the infallible and authoritative word of God to us (mankind). It was written by man as inspired by God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:16 - 2 Peter 1: 20-21
The Godhead:
Genesis 1:26 - 1 John 5:7 - Romans 1:20
God (The Father): Is the 1st person of the Godhead (Father, Son & Holy Spirit).
He is all powerful, ever present, all knowing, never changing, worthy of our praise and our trust, and He is Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and have our being Acts 17:28. He is a loving father, compassionate and faithful to His people and His promises towards us.
Exodus 3:14 - John 3:16 - Romans 3:3-4
God (The Son): Is the 2nd person of the Godhead (Father, Son & Holy Spirit).
He was God in flesh (Jesus Christ) and dwelled among us and is now alive and seated at the right hand of God (The Father). His death and resurrection created the only way for us to have a personal relationship with God (The Father) for ourselves.
Isaiah 53 - John 1:1 - Colossians 2:9 - 1 Timothy 2:5 - Hebrews 4:15 - John 14:6
God (The Holy Spirit): Is the 3rd person of the Godhead (Father, Son & Holy Spirit).
The Holy Spirit’s presence reassures us of our relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the comforter and teacher and He guides believers into all truth and convicts people of their sin and God’s righteousness. He watches over us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Jesus Christ.
John 14:26 - John 16:13 - 1 Corinthians 12:8
Faith
Without faith it is impossible to please God, therefore we need to believe that God sent His son that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life. Our faith is the bedrock of our belief because we believe in an unseen God and it is by faith we are saved through Grace.
Hebrews 11:1 - Hebrews 11:6 - John 11:25-26 - Ephesians 2:8-9
Prayer
Prayer: Is how we talk to and with God. Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address Him directly. Prayer is the key to maintaining our connection with God coupled with reading the bible.
Matthew 21:13 - Psalms 145:18 - Proverbs 15:29 - Luke 18:1
Repentance
Repentance: Is our daily commitment to turn in the opposite direction of our sins and to follow Jesus Christ in every area of our lives. It is through the acknowledgement and the action of repenting that we are forgiven of our sins.
Matthew 3:1-2 / 3:8 - Matthew 4:17 - Isaiah 30:15 - Luke 5:31-32 - Acts 3:19
Salvation
Salvation is a free gift given by God and can only be earned through faith and confession in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the ultimate sacrifice.
Acts 4:12 - John 14:6 - Titus 3:5 - Ephesians 2:8-9 - John 3:16-18
Mankind
Man was created in the image of God and is the supreme object of God’s creation. Man was made to have a relationship with God but became separated from God because of sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every man has a God given purpose and assignment and it is our responsibility to find it and walk in it to the full.
Genesis 1:26 - Genesis 2:7 - Genesis 2:18 - 1 Corinthians 7:2 - Matthew 7:24
Baptism
We believe in full-immersion water baptism as an outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life. It is a testimony to all that they now belong to Jesus. It represents the washing away of your old life and rising into your new life, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.
Matthew 28:19 - Acts 2:38
The Church
The goal of the Church is to make disciples of all nations and to be transformed into the image of Christ. It is a balance between congregation and eldership authority, emphasizing the final authority of the Church leadership. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:18-19 - Acts 2:41-47 - Colossians 1:18 - 1 Peter 5:1-4
The Five-Fold Ministry
The office of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are gifts given to every church. These gifts have been given for the equipping of believers so they are empowered to spread the gospel of the Kingdom. We believe that both men and women are sovereignly chosen by God for these ministry positions.
Ephesians 4:11-13 - 1 Corinthians 12:28 - Philippians 4:3
The Second Coming
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish his authority on the earth. This will occur at a time undisclosed by scripture. So, we live everyday in expectation of Christ’s return.
Matthew 24:30 - Acts 1:9-11 - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 - Revelation 1:7
